How much time would you say you spent using Facebook Groups for business? Actually, let me rephrase that: how much time do you spend on Facebook? If ‘too much’ was one of the answers that popped into your head, then you’re not alone. With the average person spending 1-2 hours a day on Facebook, that’s a LOT of time each week.

When you don’t have a clear direction of what to do when you’re on there, then it can waste time, and you won’t see any results for your business.

*Enter stage left – Using Facebook Groups For Business!

Yes, Facebook Groups have been around for years, but how are you using them? If you’re not using them correctly, then you could be wasting your time. Here are my top tips for interacting in these groups and using Facebook Groups for business purposes:

CHOOSE

1. Pick 3 groups that you enjoy being a part of, have your ‘ideal clients’ hanging out there and are made up of good vibes, not negative Nancys. Make sure you take a read of each group’s rules, usually a pinned post or in the description, to make sure you’re following the rules. (When you don’t, they boot you out – trust me on this!).

ACTIVITY

2. Once you have chosen your 3 groups, make sure you go in there 2-3 times daily and interact with the posts and topics coming up on there. Post your own too, but NEVER make it about the promotion of your products and services (unless someone asks).

VALUE

3. Reach out and connect with the people you regularly interact with. Have a look at their profile and find their business page, and go over and like their page. Invite them to be your friend so that you can begin a conversation with them.

INTERACTION

4. Organise a meet up with local members of the group. This is a great way of stepping up and making yourself stand out. If it is a local group, then you may want to organise an in person catch up. If it’s an international group, invite people on a zoom call to hang out – NOT promote your products.

FREEBIES!

5. Offer a freebie – could be an opt into a free product, free consultation, free samples. Get creative.

Facebook Groups are all about interaction and conversation. Make sure it’s two sided and at the same time, on the days when you’re able to promote in a group make sure you do so with confidence and gusto!
