- Title – Once you have decided on a subject you need to then produce a title, which people will potentially punch into a search engine but also covers the subject and content.
- Opening – The first line needs to be short, punchy and immediately grab the reader’s attention.
- Content – A personal frustration, when reading blogs, is when the content doesn’t really tie in with the subject line. Ensure your content is specific to your subject and that your point is made quickly instead of padding it out.
- Memorable – Read the content from a reader’s perspective and provide a couple of snippets which will remain with readers after they’ve finished reading. Include pictures where possible.
- Proofing – We are all guilty of making grammatical errors. Take extra time to proof read your post before publishing. This could mean you read your content out loud to make sure it makes sense. Alternatively ask a colleague, friend or partner to have a read.
- Comments – Keep an eye on comments and engage with your readers after you have published your post. They are the ones who will help you promote your blog, so please be nice!
