Targeted Marketing
Would you like to approach your ideal customers with a creative and message they relate to along with an offer that appeals to them? Of course you would! Through the use of carefully targeted marketing, you can achieve this.
Although Direct Mail may be seen as ‘old school’ by many, we continue to see clients achieve real results and huge sales through this method. It may seem a little more costly. However if every prospect you’re approaching is a potential client, then the Return on Investment is much higher than other forms of marketing.
The process begins with looking at your current customers. Find out who they are, the products and services they are using and what’s important to them. Until you have thorough understanding of your existing customer’s behaviours, it’s difficult to determine how to find more of them! However, you can do this in many ways. Try using newsletters or social media to find out where they ‘fit’. If you have a database of over 5,000 then you can even pay a Data Company to profile it. This will give you valuable information to use in your marketing campaigns.
Direct Mail
Direct Mail is also known as Targeted Mail and Direct Marketing. It’s a great way of using different creative, messaging and offers segmented depending on who your audience is. What this means is you can go out to the right people, with the right message at the right time.
A perfect example of this is a Financial Institution. They are known for careful analysis of their customer data to determine who is in the market for a mortgage, new credit card or savings account and tailoring their offers to suit the particular customer. Those letters you receive from the bank aren’t random, but through careful data analysis to ensure they are sending offers for products that are relevant to you and your current situation.
Another example is a mail order company who has various product lines. They are able to breakdown their customers by what they are purchasing, how much they are spending or by demographic. This allows them to cross and up sell and offer higher value customers better deals through planning and analysis.
Please don’t be fooled though, you do not need to be a big bank or retail company to use Direct Mail. Many small-medium sized business still use Direct Mail and because they are smaller, the results are seen faster!
